Day 3- San Antonio

Day 3: San Antonio and the Alamo

Good morning from the Bashfuls bright and early! We woke up at 4:30 a.m. today to the sweet sound of Miss Beautiful. Loading the bus we sadly said goodbye to our “beachside resort” and our mattresses and air conditioning. After driving for a while we got to eat a yummy breakfast of bagels with cream cheese and bananas. Most of us slept while others on Carolina girl played the Jello game. On the bus we played a new game of Karaoke starring CJ Hill and Lauren L. singing “Breaking Free” and the famous Hunter sang “Fergalicious” for the second time (a crowd favorite). Austin Jacobs made the “worlds longest keychain” of approximately 4 feet and it took 3 hours to make.

By noon we passed through Baton Rouge and had lunch on the vans and bus that consisted of pizza roll ups, which were yummy and tasted like Lunchables!

Our arrival to San Antonio was unfortunately delayed by a tire in the road, but it was quickly fixed and we were on our way. We arrived in San Antonio to see the Alamo and Riverwalk after manyyyyyy hours of riding. Even though our time was cut a little short due to our car troubles, we were still able to walk around and enjoy the history of the Alamo. Afterwards, we went to the Riverwalk and were amazed at how pretty it was. We got to shop, lots of people got Icees and ice cream, others got souvenirs, and some ordered takeout at the nearby restaurants.

Now we are unwinding for the night at Schreiner University getting ready for bed and showering. We get to enjoy another night in the air conditioning before sleeping outside tomorrow night at the New Mexico Military Academy. Some of the athletes who attend the university gave us a run down on what being a student and athlete at this university is like. We are excited for tomorrow in the Carlsbad Caverns!

Signing off for now by your first bloggers!

Love,
